"She Loves Me"— Teaching Girls how to care for themselves

With a grant from the Global Fund for Women, Virgin Islands Perinatal Incorporated in keeping their commitment to empowering women focused their support on school-aged girls and offered a workshop series entitled "She Loves Me" developed by AziyzaShabazz. Using creative movement, relaxation techniques and art, the girls learned how to take care of their bodies and the importance of maintaining a healthy body. For example, the girls learned about nutrition, taking care of their hands and feet, understanding the connection between their outer appearance and inner feelings and movement using the NIA technique.
